When I was in school and just a girl
Teacher asked what I’d be if I could be anything in the world
I had never been asked this question before
But thought of an answer as I stared at the floor
I told her I wanted to be invisible
She just shook her head and said “Isn’t that pitiful.”
It didn’t seem so bad to me
I could go where I wanted and do what I pleased

As I walked unseen through the streets of the city
